Dear Minnesota State Participants, Fans & Supporters
On Saturday May 16th pullers from the state of Minnesota joined up to
discuss the safety and well being of the children, and have made the difficult decision to cancel all State Sanctioned Pedal Pulls in Minnesota for 2020. With that being said there will also be no State Pedal Pull Held in Redwood Falls in September 2020.
At this time we do not know the stand of the National Pedal Pull or other states that are part of the Nationals. We feel that it is our responsibility to make this difficult decision based on Governor Walz’s large gathering restrictions. This does not mean that there will not be any unsanctioned pulls in the state, as individual events will be at the pullers discretion. Those pullers choosing to hold unsanctioned events will be provided a link to the current sanitizing and safety recommendations and will be expected to follow the most current guidelines to ensure the safety of participants.
I have spoken with Nationals and they are continually working to navigate these unprecedented times. At this time they have made the decision to allow 13 year olds to participate in the 2021 State and National Pedal Pulls. Kids are missing out on so much already this year, we do not want our oldest participants to miss out on their last year with us.
This has not been an easy decision for us to make. At this time, with the amount of uncertainty surrounding all of us, we had to put the health and safety of all of our Pedal Pull Families as our Number ONE priority.
We thank you for your support and understanding and hope that you all remain safe and healthy.
We look forward to seeing all of you in 2021.
President Minnesota State Pedal Pulls
